Tesway X7-Pro - The First 50 Miles!

The ride quality I would call excellent, it's a very comfortable bike to ride, definitely more comfortable than my other 2 bikes by far. The dual suspension really soaks up the bumps my other bikes would transmit directly through my teeth, no lie I find the ride of this bike to be pretty "luxe", lol. I wouldn't call it a "sporty" bike in terms of handling. The best way to describe it would be "A cargo bike with some sporty off-road capabilities" rather than "a sporty bike with cargo capabilities". It definitely leans more on the "cargo" side vs the "sporty" side, so I wouldn't really get this bike to tackle technical singletrack. If I had to describe it in "motorcycle" terms, this bike handles more like a "Harley Sportster" than it does like a "Honda CBR". Give yourself time and room to maneuver. It's not a small, light bike. In fact, if Harley Davidson and Tesla got together and built a motorcycle, I think it would be very much like this bike. And that's nothing I'm at all unhappy about, personally I love the "Harley-esque" handling.

But what about the range? I'm sure that's a question that's weighing heavily on your mind if you're looking at bikes with 60Ah batteries in them. Does this bike REALLY have 100 miles on throttle and 200 miles on PA?

Well, I did round about 50 miles on the bike yesterday, and I was NOT gentle on the throttle. Using PAS-5 on most of my trip (aside from the little bits where I was cruising around town) and just mashing the throttle (pedaling only on steep hills, really), and in that 50 miles my battery went from 5 bars all the way down to 4. And I wasn't deep into 4, either, I had only hit 4 bars a few miles before I got home.

50 miles on 1 bar of juice on 90% PAS 5 throttle only says, to me, that the range of this bike is, in fact, NOT exaggerated like so many other manufacturers tend to do. If anything, it seems to me like it's UNDER-rated. And this is not a claim I would make lightly or frivolously. If you're out there looking for a bike to do Grub Hub and Door Dash with...by golly, this just might be your bike. Being able to do 100+ miles a day on pure throttle makes this bike a rolling cash machine for you Door Dashers. It should pay for itself in less than 6 months, lol.

So the battery life and range of this bike? One word. SWOON. It just goes...and goes...and goes...and goes.

Now, all this "glowing review" stuff, is it perfect? Not entirely. First, as I said before, a torque sensor would turn this bike from "simply amazing" into "industry leading". If they could offer this as an optional add-on, I'd DEFINITELY be willing to purchase this to add on to my Tesway.

And the one thing I miss more than anything? Water bottle bosses for water bottle cages. There aren't any. Note to Tesway - a 100 / 200 mile range e-bike? Would benefit from a drink of water. Trust an avid biker on this, I've already ordered a water bottle holder I can attach to the handlebar stem. But what I'd really like to see is a set of water bottle bosses built into the forward upper section of the frame, so I could put water bottle cages on it. Water bottle bosses are perhaps the one thing this bike SORELY lacks, so if you intend to use this for long-distance cruising, make sure you allow for some refreshments. You're going to be in the saddle a while.

What would I love to see for Tesway's next e-bike release? I would LOVE to see Tesway make a "Hunting Version" of their X5 / X7 Pro bikes, with camouflage paint and dual-motors for running in the woods. Their X-platform bikes are simply amazing, and beg for a dual-motor hunting version to be brought
